Spooky Tues Weekly Social Rides at Jungle Habitat

Postby mergs » Tue Sep 21, 2010 7:47 am

NOTE: These rides are ON HOLD until after MUD SEASON. Will advise here when we're back on.

Folks, starting September 28th 2010, we'll lead a weekly social paced ride at Jungle Habitat, called Spooky Tuesdays. This ride is for intermediate or higher riders that can handle climbs, rock gardens and are comfortable riding with lights (we're losing light fast and soon it will be dark at the beginning of the ride, not just the end).

Why the spooky name? Come on out and ride Jungle in the dark and find out!

The particulars:

Where: Jungle Habitat, 109 Airport Rd West Milford, NJ. Main gate meeting

When: every Tues night at 6pm (we'd like to roll by 6pm, so please meet 15 mins prior if you can but note that the park closes at 8pm.

Why: because riding with new and old friends is fun and much spookier at night.

Although the park closes at 8pm we have a fun 2 hour loop that will vary a little here and there each week. If you've never ridden JH or your a seasoned local, come out and ride with us.

direct your questions to jungle@jorba.org

What's a social pace? We don't hammer. If you're training on Tuesdays and you're heart rate monitor is packed and ready, this ride is not for you. But if you want to ride at a spirited pace but wait for everyone at the intersections (no drop policy), and meet new friends and smile a lot, this ride is for you.

If you'd like to lead or sweep these rides, or ride mid pack and keep people together, we could use your help. Just come on out and inform Jeff or one of the ride leaders that you'd like to help.

p.s. This ride replaces the beginner ride on Tues nights. However, I will shift beginner rides to a weekend soon. Please keep an eye out for that announcement.
What would we do without trails? Let's not find out. http://www.IMBA.com
