JORBA Allamuchy Group Ride - 9/11/10

Postby mare45 » Mon Aug 16, 2010 7:10 am

Howdy folks!

I'd like to update you, as the date for our Allamuchy group ride is changed to September 11th from October 9th as follows:

Allamuchy State Park
Tranquility Farm Trail Head, Andover (40.935298,-74.802665)
9:30 a.m. start
2 groups: social & advanced paced. Burgers & brats to follow.
Bring a side dish & folding chair.
25 rider max. RSVP required.

Although we'll probably throw in some impromptu rides, here are the remaining scheduled rides for the year:

September 11th, Allamuchy State Park, Food to Follow
October 16th, Six Mile Run
November 12th, Wharton State Forest Night Ride

If you plan to attend, let me know!

Folks dont let the advanced pace scare you off (any Wookies reading). The advanced ride is more for the "gnar" factor and ability to ride through the fun stuff rather than overall speed. So if you can ride the rocks like a Wooky, then you can come on the advanced ride...if you can ride the rock gardens in a pink tu tu you should be on the advanced ride!!!

BTW, the social ride will still be slogging up the same hills, just not hitting as many rock gardens as the advanced.

Bob W.

BTW - I have a note from my mom to do this ride

Yes, what Bob is trying to say is that you can take your time and enjoy the view thru the gnar with the social paced group. Or, you can ride faster with that group and get back to the car earlier. Suffice to say... I'd take a crack at the social in order to meet some new people and catch my breath at the top of the climbs. Take you pick... fast or social, don't miss a tour with the trail builders at the mooch. Brats are icing on the cake!

Frank understands...not pace, its terrain related....

What Jeff meant to say is he will be on the advanced ride cause he loves gnar. Jeff, I am not doing another group ride with you where we don't ride together!

Call me a spaz (ok, not really), but I let the ball drop on the whole food thing here. We would like folks to bring some sort of food to share. Burgers and brats are covered, but please bring a side dish of some sort.

I'll bring cookies or something else in the dessert category, plates, cups, and utensils.
