Jungle Habitat will re-open today

Postby mergs » Wed Jun 30, 2010 6:39 am

We just received word this morning from NJ DEP that Jungle Habitat will re-open as of today, 30 June.

The bear in question has -not- been caught and indeed has been seen elsewhere in the adjacent neighborhoods of West Milford and appears to have moved out of Jungle Habitat.

In addition, I am told that the traps in Jungle Habitat have been tampered with and vandalized in an effort to prevent the bear from being trapped. Although trail users will be allowed into the park the snares and traps will be signed with no trespassing and clearly marked. Do not approach them or tamper with them.

If anyone witnesses this behavior the NJ Park Police would like to be notified immediately with a phone call at: (973) 962-2240
