Estell Manor Thanks

Postby KenS » Sun Apr 11, 2010 6:26 pm

We had a super turnout today for trail work at Estell Manor. A long wet section of trail was armored and had its tread raised.

Thanks to:

Kurt Widmaier
John Williams
Nikky Errickson
Clint Gill
Rick Archer
Frank Harms
Brian Snyder
Chris Bonsall
Cbag Ken

We had a great post TM ride and fun session. Thanks to Clint for leading the way. We also learned that woods people are cool, wookies talk a lot, gorillas dig holes faster than humans, the air force is cool, people who live 5 doors apart cut on each other more than everyone else at a tm day, bearclaws aren’t served prior to 0930 in south jerz and no lawnmowers are allowed outside of Wharton.

Thanks to a great bunch of folks. I look forward to lots of future trail work and fun.

I had a great time digging and cutting up with some of the Southern Clan. The ride after was a hoot, and gave us a good idea about the rest of the park's general condition. Thanks to Ken (and family, of course.) for the hospitality, and many laughs. Frank also deserves props for making sure I made it down there on time (for a change) and driving back. Pictures are on the JORBA Facebook page, and my (trailgorilla4jorba) Flickr page.

Hey Everyone,

I was really nice meeting everyone on Sunday..Can't wait to get out on the trail and ride the section we repaired. Much was observed and learned for future trail repair and construction...would love to get together with the group and ride sometime:)

Any photos? We rode the trails back in the early Fall and there was a lot of boring slow tight snaking IMBA trails that seemed unnecessary. There was also some tight over-growth in some areas. What are the conditions now? I wouldn't mind helping to create some faster & tech trails in the near future.
