Beginner Skills Clinic

Postby gt2brew » Sat Jun 20, 2009 12:45 pm

Howdy everyone,
Sorry for the late post on this clinic, there was a scheduling issue at the park and we had to delay announcement until now. JORBA's Allaire crew will be hosting a Beginner Skills Clinic on July 11th 2009 at 9am. This clinic is designed for the new and beginner level rider and covers skills such as climbing, descending, braking, trail etiquette, and dealing with those pesky trail logstacles. The crew will contain seasoned riders who are willing to share their knowledge and love for mountain biking. We will only travel around 5 miles but will have frequent stops to instruct the riders on the various obstacles that one might encounter in the woods. If this sounds good to you, please rsvp to allaire@jorba.org and we hope to see you on the 11th.

Perfect weather, dry trails, and a parking lot full of cars with bike racks. Todays Skills clinic was attended by 23 smiling folk that were guided by 14 coaches....we even had 2 photographers. I would like to thank the coaches that helped today:
    Tom Carretta
    Tony Caprio
    Chad MacWhinney
    Chris Gozick
    Jason Chamiak
    Jim Doeren
    Val Doeren
    Ben Tufford
    Joe Santana
    Mike Flatley
    Maryanne Suvoniec
    *TJ Logan
    *Will Hulseberg
    *John Williams
* recruited 10 minutes before the start of the clinic

I am looking forward to many great pictures by Mark Laidlaw and Ferdie Araga and I will post links as soon as they are available (they took a ton).

I would like to thank Mike Flatley, Jim and Val Doeren, and John Wojewoda for assisting with the "Logstacle" construction on friday night.

And last but not least I want to thank Tony Caprio for building a "Rootstacle" for the event as well.

thank you all

Here are pics on my end. There are still a bunch on my computer so let me know if any rider doesn't have at least one shot here in this bunch. At any rate, I will be uploading a few more anytime tonight or tomorrow so check the link every now & then.

Of course you can use this for facebook & for promotion! These are JORBA pics as far as I'm concerned. I still have a bunch that I need to upload because after looking at the pics this morning, I realized I didn't put the other pics I liked to be up there.
