WSF: Oak Hill Trail, Reflective Oranges and the Roof

Oak Hill Trail:
With help from Mark, Dottie and Tracy from Meetup/BeyondTheGym (thanks all! :) ), JohnE and I were able to brush and mark WSF’s Oak Hill Bike Trail (aka: nueWhite) this past month. This trail is apprx. 3 miles long and gives riders a third north/south single track option up to the Huckleberry Trail. View the GPS track overlay here.

Reflective Oranges:
Jim Broeker, Rick Stammerjohann and JohnE went hiking last Saturday and clipped the bushier single track sections of WSF’s Fire Tower Trail (oldGreen). They also double marked those oldGreen single track sections with the Penn Branch Trail’s orange markers. Most agree that the orange markers are easier to see then the green. This crew went the extra step and enhanced the markers with pieces of reflective tape for those night rides. Thanks guys!

The Roof:
With the help of Mick Tormey (thanks Mick!) , JohnE and me were able to donate/purchase a used Roof brush mower for JORBA's WSF trail maintenance. (Just in time for Merg’s birthday.) The mower's initial run was hampered by a worn drive pulley, but it looks like this tool will be a big help with future maintenance.
