A New Chapter for Wharton State Forest

Postby mergs » Mon Apr 27, 2009 8:56 pm

Its my pleasure to announce that a new chapter has been formed to maintain and improve the massive trail network at Wharton State Forest. Kurt Widmaier, everyone's favorite mower monkey, has assembled a devoted crew over the past few years and they've done an outstanding job in the Pines.

Formerly a JAR project, Wharton State Forest has seen two IMBA visits and a massive amount of volunteer effort to build the current trail network of 30+ miles of trails. Now that the Wharton crew is self maintaining, its pragmatic to spin off and autonomous chapter and build on past success.

The Wharton Trail Users Group will be performing trail work, running group rides and raising hell in South Jersey. If you're interested in getting involved, contact the Wharton crew at wharton@jorba.org.
What would we do without trails? Let's not find out. http://www.IMBA.com
