Paydirt - ACD Team Challenge

The JORBA Paydirt Committee would like to thank the Campmor H2H Series and ACD Security for their support of the Paydirt Program. In it’s first year, The ACD Security Team Challenge brought out racers and trail maintainers to work together side by side for a common goal, working on the trails they love.

Moto activity in Allaire

It has been brought to my attention that there have been sightings of more than one motorcycle illegally riding through the trails at Allaire. While this totally sucks and the hard work of our volunteers are being damaged, engaging these idiots is just as bad....I know, I've made that error in judgement myself. If you happen across one of these morons, please call the Park Police at 877-927-6337, or the Park Office at 732-938-2164 and avoid confrontation at all costs please, one wrong shouldn't be countered with another.

RTP and Transportation funding: "deja vu all over again"

Morning folks. Here at JORBA we try to parse out the action alerts that come our way and only pass along those we feel are important enough for you all to spend time on. Sometimes that means we miss a few but we usually catch the ones that truly matter. This is one of them: Recreational Trails Program and Transportation enhancements funding related to Complete Streets and Safe Routes to Schools programs.

Thank You from the Paydirt Committee

The JORBA Paydirt committee would like to thank all volunteers for their dedication and volunteer hours working on the trails in 2011. Heavy snows, rains and a major hurricane in 2011 kept crews quite busy. I am proud to report that most parks were back to normal within a few weeks of hurricane Irene, thanks to JORBA volunteers. Annual Paydirt volunteers logged over 5700 hours on trail work in 2011. 5700 hours of volunteer labor is valued by park managers at $131,100. Dirt Night Thanks

On behalf of all my JORBA brethren, I would like to take this opportunity to shout out a big Thank You to a great group of people. On December 7th, Brielle Cyclery held their first annual Dirt Night to benefit our favorite cause - mountain biking. They invited industry reps to set up displays, and impart their knowledge and info to the many guests who attended the event. Angelo from SRAM, Bart from Crank Bros.
